Diabetes Update: Hypogonadism and Diabetes Vol. 1 Issue 1

Target Audience: This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of pharmacists. 

 

Procedure: To receive your CE certificate, please complete the quiz and program evaluation online.  A certificate of completion will be available to print if > 70% of the quiz answers are correct.  It should take approximately 90-120 minutes to read the monograph and complete the post test.

 

Goals: To review the prevalence and treatment of hypogonadism in type 2 diabetes.

Learning Objectives
After completing this continuing education program the pharmacist should be able to:

  1. List the symptoms of hypogonadism.

  2. Use screening tools to detect patient who are at high risk for hypogonadism.

  3. Understand the link between diabetes and hypogonadism.

  4. List the optimal therapy for hypogonadism.

  5. List the goals of therapy for hypogonadism.

  6. List the advantages, disadvantages, and patient education points for the various testosterone preparations that are available in the United States.
